Just as I’m about to walk out the door to go on my first hiking adventure, I see one two, three, four unwelcomed droplets spattering the window in my living room, accompanied by many more that begin to form a slow moving waterfall down the tilted glass. Booooo. I often talk about how much I love the rain, but right now it is seriously hindering my plans for the day.
Since there are no yoga classes today, I thought, why not go hiking? Once I was awake enough to venture out of the hotel, I stopped at the Montreux tourism office to see what information they could give me. The nice lady handed me a broshure with a great list of hikes in the area, the amount of time each takes, and their levels of difficulty. Excellent! There are a few that start from Montreux and many others that you can train to in under an hour. And because it looked relatively grey outside, I figured I would try one of the hikes that doesn’t require a train ride just in case I wanted to come back sooner. The name of the hike? Gorges du Chauleron. So, I packed a lunch, the hiking info, some water and my camera in my awesomely nerdy fanny pack camera bag and what do you know, it’s starts raining just as I am about to walk out the door... Which brings me to this post. I repeatedly look at the window to see if the clouds have graciously moved on yet. So far... no luck. I wonder, is there such a thing as an anti-rain dance? Maybe I’ll google it or just give it a try... Wish me luck!
